What makes an effective (and reflective) post? Elaborate! What do/did you notice in making? How did you feel? What did you learn? How did/will you apply that learning? Use specific language that articulates what, when, how, and why. Hypothesize. Why do you think whatever challenge happened happened? Example: My earrings <title> are are soft leaf shape with a squiggle that goes down the middle. They are made from 18 G nickel silver, and are peened on the side of the leaf that connects with the finding. When I look at these earrings, I think of a leaf (the shape) and of a river viewed from above (the wiggle in the middle of the earring). The earrings are shiny silver, which reminds me of reflections on water. I noticed as I was finishing these that they are not quite symmetrical with one another; the space in the first 'wiggle' near the finding is different. I experienced some challenges in bending and peening these earrings. It was difficult to get the earrings to match because of the number of bends. I also struggled to get the movement to 'feel' the same. In peening, it was hard to flatten one part of the earring with out hitting the other parts. Because of this challenge I didn't create as much variety in the line weight as I wanted to. I met the challenges by repeating the wire to paper, wire to wire and butterfly tests. Because I peened them before completing these tests however, I was not able to get the earrings to match perfectly. I also chose at some point to simply opt for 'flow' and continue working instead of obsessing on the matching. If I were to re-do these earrings I would be sure that they passed all the tests before peening, and perhaps I would leave a little more space in the design so better access the wire for peening. I would also try to bend 'cleaner'-the metal became work hardened after a point, and I had a difficult time getting the wire to look smooth. I got very frustrated then. I will apply this learning by being very conscious in my bending. I also learned that sometimes it's important to just keep going even if the bending isn't perfect. There's a delicate balance between flow and craftsmanship. You may notice that your text has typos, or I may ask you to elaborate.
